*Ramdhaan Mubarak | Ramdhaan Kareem | Happy Ramadhaan*
Morning | Evening | Night Whereever you are!
As Ramadhaan has approached us it's the month of cleansing one soul, mind and body. It's a month to be able to either connect or reconnect with Allah (SWT) so much that the bond between us and Allah (SWT) is unbreakable and the only thing between us is death.
Ramdhaan Muslims?
Every year you see new facebook post, twitter tweets, instagram photos, blog posts etc commenting about "Ramadhaan Muslims" I would like to take the time out to tell you brothers and sisters not to make it a tag like that, as much as they fit into the catergory it's not our right to tag them like this. Us humans we tend to hate when people judge us by what we do, wear, look, talk etc however forgetting that ever judges it's a common mistake between humans however making that judgement into a fact is wrong. If a girl wears a headscarf during Ramadhaan doesn't make her a Muslim only during Ramadhaan, if anything she maybe a girl who wears very revealing clothes yet is connected to Allah (SWT) so much more than who does wear a scarf all the time. Ramdhaan isn't only about fasting and then eating, I think people in general forget it's about cleansing one soul. It's about being able to use this month to connect to Allah (SWT) without the Shaitan stopping. It's about us getting together as an Ummah and helping one out. We need to realize that some people who do wear a scarf only during this month, go to mosque during this month, go to talks etc it maybe a new beginning for them.
I have met many sisters who started during the past few years and subhan'allah hasn't taken it off since then.
Tagging someone that label won't help them come closer to Allah (SWT) it might drag them away. I know when I had a family member forcing me to wear a full Hijab (Abaya, scarf and socks) the were so forceful in their words I actually went further away from it than closer. From that I learnt I myself need to stop calling these people Ramadhaan Muslims, I need to help them and guide them to what Allah (SWT) has made me realize.
I hope I made sense with the above message.
Cleanse ones body:
Now also I have learnt the hard-way what Ramadhaan is really about, I use to think just fast and eat fatty food after, pray and read Quran. I was silly, Allah'hum'dulilal Allah (SWT) has guided me and shown me it's not that. We assume to eat lots right, well no! We need to detox our inner body too and eat healthy food. Specially with the long days ahead of us we need energetic food during Suhoor to keep us going throughout the day I found this article online which is really good and proven by a registered dietician: http://www.buzzfeed.com/emofly/foods-to-eat-at-suhoor-that-release-energy-throughout-thehttp://www.buzzfeed.com/emofly/foods-to-eat-at-suhoor-that-release-energy-throughout-theCleanse ones Mind:
It's easier said than done (I know!!) I am such a angry person with my family, rest of the world I'm nice. I always fight with my sisters, talk back etc and it's not right. I asked for guidance from Allah (SWT) and so beautifully that day I downloaded the book Reclaim Your Heart by Yasmin Mogahead on my Kindle, I don't know why because I read a lot of books but never something related to my heart and soul. Like Fundamental of Islam, Tajweed etc but this book really helped me and when I say really I mean really helped me calm down and look at life in a different way. I started to read this book 3 months ago when starting my new job. Since then I've had 2 arguments which is good in my case LOL! I would advice seek a book, person, Quran whatever gives you peace seek within that and learn how to detox your mind by letting go of grudges, by starting fresh and letting it be the last time you looked at yourself in the mirror without faking a smile.
Cleanse ones Soul:
Well we should know the answer to that and it can only be through Allah (SWT) I use to always wonder why if Allah (SWT) loved us why does he make us go through hardship? Why are we in pain? He only does it for one reason and thats for us to look for him, seek his guidance believe in him. My Iman was and is probably so weak but now I feel fresh and alive, I know you hear probably a lot of people say this yet when you try it doesn't work I've been through that but carrying on praying, make du'a and seek for Allah (SWT) he is there waiting for you, you just need to do it more and with a whole heart. Let go of all the bad seriously it's just not good, if we pass away tomorrow will that grudge be good? Will the anger be helping you?
PRAY Salah, I can't ever explain how important and beautiful it is to Pray. I've been praying since I was in year 9 but till I was in year 12 I never knew why we prayed and now even more recently I'm discovering new things. Correct Salah and I promise you for the sake of Allah (SWT) everything else in your life will fall into place. Even if you think something is goof for you yet Allah (SWT) gets rid of it, it's purely because it's not good enough for you to lead you to Jannat. Salal is the key to Jannat but your Iman is the turning point, and only your fingers your mind your soul can turn the key no one else.
Learn to forget and forgive. We often say I'll forgive you but can never forget, that's wrong we need to do both. Whats the point of forgiving yet not forgetting and if the Shaitan gets the better of you, you will remind the person of how the hurt you? So learn forgive and forget! I usually try to forget first because I know once I've forgotten my heart and mind usually forgives :)
