Disclaimer: This whole blog itself aren't for those who may cringe when reading anything with grammatical errors. Sadly I suffer from Dysgraphia Dyslexia and there's nothing I can do about it. When I read things, they seem correct to me but really aren't. So best you stop here. Although this is a sponsored blog post, I was in no way obliged to give a "great" review. If I didn't like it I would not post about it.
Ya'll know I'm a snob when it comes to Make-up. It's not that I only like high end brands, I use drugstore too but I tend to just always use my high end brand because it gives a better finish. Now please don't assume because I use high end I will look down at those who don't. We all are different, prefer different things and sometimes we all have different reasons to spend our money. I rather buy one high end product that several drugstore and not end up using them.
About 4 weeks ago I bought the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation, but I've not used it everyday only on occasion, I wanted to use it enough to give a good review. I use to have the Light Wonder foundation but I either left that in Turkey or Bangladesh because I can't find it.... Sad!
Review of the foundation is below
Formula: It's very blendable and feels very soft and comfortable. The liquid dries very fast so you need to be super fast with blending it. I'd suggest to put it part by part on your face so that you can work on one part then the other. More than luminous I feel the formula dries matte, maybe not 100% but it does dry it matte which is great for Oily skin! The formula doesn't smell, which is so a PRO for me, because I hate mascara purely due to the smell it's super annoying.
Coverage: Although CT has said it's full coverage, I felt as though I needed to put two coats on to get the full coverage and if you know me I'm not fond of full coverage not even on a close persons wedding. I like my little spots and little scars to show so I loved the fact it was medium coverage in the end. So if you're buying this to get one coat flawless finish, I'd say think twice because you'll be applying it twice. The coverage evens out skin tone nicely.
Packaging: Love the glass bottle, but when I think of traveling it's annoying because it's not weightless. But I still love it. Although I would've preferred if it was like the Light Wonder packaging for travel and also to make sure all product is empty.
Overall it's a very good product. It's priced at £29.50 and for me personally (as a Makeup Snob) I'd rather buy this and use it than settle for a drugstore and then not fall in love with it.
Here are my PRO's and CON's
+ Medium Coverage
+ Comfortable and slightly lightweight
+ The formula is suitable for breakout prone skin (I tend to have this after a make-up marathon Week)
+ Fragrance free
+ The mineral based sunscreen within the foundation helps ward off pro-ageng sun damage =D
+ Huge shade range, I love the fact it had a huge range which I could choose from. Although I didn't get the exact shade it was closest
- Literally sticks on and dries fast
- Emphasizes on your dry parts so for dry skin uses, this is not for you
- If you don't apply primer, setting powder and setting spray the coverage can fade as the days goes on
Would I buy it again? Yes I would, but I'd wait for a while and test others out before reinvesting as I don't see it as a MUST like my Urban Decay Naked Foundation (Which I will be doing a review on)
Hope my review was helpful and you got some help from it. I'd like to suggest that you still try it if you can because we are all different and some people claim this is full coverage and maybe it is on their babysoft skin but for my skin it was (which I am glad about)
Thank you and see you soon :-)
Hope you liked this review. Please let me know if you like any ore review.
